Nairobi is affectionately know as the city in the sun and it one of those cities where business as well as leisure intermingle very well. Travelers to the city of Nairobi will not be disappointed because Nairobi is well prepared to meet the needs to different clientele. Some of the unique attractions that one can sample include visits to the museum, cultural centers as well as National Parks.

Nairobi National park is located 7 kilometers from the City Centre of Nairobi. The park boasts of being the only park in the world that borders a city. The park is ideal for those folks who want to go on a game drive but do not want the hassle of traveling to long distances. The park covers an area of about 117km2 and is blessed with numerous wild animals. We have the David Sheldrick trust which cares for orphaned animals and was founded by Mervyn Cowie in 1946. Here one is able to see diverse bird life as well as aquatic species

For those that are bold and courageous, a visit to the Nairobi snake park will be a blessing for them. Within the confines of this park we have deadly vipers that are enclosed behind thick glass walls . This park is quite popular with international as well as local visitors. For those that are superstitious of snakes then it would be best to avoid this place. Some of the vipers that call this place home include cobras, mambas, African rock python among others. We also have American Alligators as well as crocodiles in this park

Another attraction to visit is the Nairobi Museum that was established in 1910. The museum is responsible for keeping important historical monuments and its also used as a research center. The museum also has a botanical garden within its confines. Get to enjoy and see artifacts that show the history of the country.

Another good attraction to visit would be the Railway Museum. The museum keeps good records of the history and construction of the Kenya Uganda railway line that started in the early 1900s. Get to know more about the famous man eaters of Tsavo that developed an appetite for the railway constructions workers and how they eventually got killed. The old engines are on display and once in a while they are fired up to give visitors a tour of the local countryside.

The pagoda shaped Kenyatta International Conference Center is the most recognizable symbol of Nairobi. Its unique architecture makes it a Kenyan icon akin to India’s Taj-Mahal, or Paris’ Eiffel Tower. It has a ready photographic ambiance for visitors interested in creating moments in time.

A visit to the Carnivore restaurant in Nairobi is a must. The Carnivore Restaurants was at one time voted as one of the top 50 restaurants in the world by the Restaurant Magazine (UK). Here one is able to binge on roast beef and wash it down with fine drinks. The hot meats are cut on skewers placed right in front of us onto a hot place. Its no wonder that this place is dubbed as the “Africa’s Greatest Eating Experience”. The restaurant also boasts of entertaining international artists like Shaggy and Kirk Franklin.

For those that are interested in the history of Kenya, the Kenya National Archives is an ideal place to tour. For those that love African art, the African Heritage located at the Carnivore as well as the Masai Market are an ideal place to visit.
