The Garmin Rino Radio 120 GPS works fantastic. It works great with my Motorolas. I can easily send my position to another Garmin Rino user using the GMRS range hassle-free. I like the Position Reporting. This feature is extremely important for me. There are so many potential uses for this PR feature — too many to mention here. It works just like a military operations tool. It has search & rescue capabilities that I use to round up my family when we are on outdoor trips.
Other features include the moving map, an alarm clock, calender, and other handy goodies. After the initial position fix, satellite acquisition is much quicker than my old GPS III. Between SA being switched off and the new WAAS system, I have been able to achieve accuracy (based on what the unit says, of course) of over nine feet.
The unit is compact and very lightweight. No one likes carrying around needless weight. I particularly liked the battery life on this unit; you will be pleasantly surprised here, too. On the whole, I feel that the Garmin 120 is a valuable device loaded with the features you need. It sells at a good price for a mapping GPS. It combines both a radio and gps, which makes it a real bargain. The Garmin Rino 120 Radio GPS is well worth the money. I recommend it highly.
