Games to Play at a Tea Party
Tea party games are always fun to plan. If you are looking for the best tea party games, you have come to the right place.
The first game is called Teacup Swap. Any number of people can play Teacup Swap and everyone is a winner! To play, each person needs a teacup and saucer. Let guests know in your invitation that they need to bring a teacup and saucer or you can provide one for each person if your party budget allows it.
When the guests arrive, have them sit at the tea table and place their cups and saucers in front of them.
When you are ready, have everyone walk around the table, admiring each teacup and saucer set. When everyone has finished, let them know that the first guest to arrive is the first to choose a teacup.
Continue in the order in which the guests arrived, or you can go in age order, or have numbers drawn from a hat.
Wherever the cup is, that is where they sit. This is a great game to use when people only sit by others that they know.
Everyone is a winner and they all get to take home a pretty new teacup!
If you are looking for a great tea party game for a small number of people, look no further. Tea Tasting is fun for everyone and works well to get people acquainted and talking with each other. A small prize and some teapots are needed to play.
Buy an assortment of teas and steep each in a different pot.
Give each guest a little bit of the teas, keeping the flavor a secret. Serve everyone one flavor at a time.
Go through each flavor in the same way, and at the end the best guesser can win a small trinket if you would like.
Just remember to write down which tea is in each pot in case you forget!
Try buying different herbal teas that have distinct flavors for those at the party that do not normally drink tea.
Usually mixed teas are confusing to taste test. Try to stick to pure tea flavors.
These teas should be familiar to your guests and have contrasting flavors:
Peppermint
Rose Hip
Orange Zest
Green Tea
Lavender
Chai
Chamomile
Ginger
Raspberry
If you are looking for a silly game that is tons of fun, arrange for each guest to make a lovely tea party hat.
Look at a craft store or a dollar store for inexpensive hat making materials.
Don’t worry too much about finding the perfect craft supplies. Your guests are sure to get creative with whatever you supply.
If you need some hints on what to buy, here are some ideas:
Silk flowers
Ribbons
Lace
Buttons
Beads
Thread
Bells
Fabric
Buy flowing fabric such as tulle, organza, or lame (pronounced la-may) and cut them into pieces big enough to wrap around the brim of a hat.
You will need several hot glue guns if you have them available. Ask around before the party.
If you do not have any hot glue guns handy, a few bottles of quick drying craft glue will suffice.
After your guests have finished decorating their hats, award prizes to the biggest hat, the silliest hat, the prettiest hat, etc. This game is lots of fun when everyone wins!
