Getting a Nursing Assistant Certificate
The CNA or Certified Nursing Assistant has to complete a CNA training program. If it is a state approved program then it must have at least 50 hours of theory classes and 100 hours of clinical training under experienced nurses according to a Federal Act of 1987. They are called State Tested Nurse Aid or CNAs and they get their names registered in the state registry. To continue maintaining this position, they have to put in 48 hours of education every year.
